Had to call an ambulance.My poor son has Pericarditis. 5 days in Hospital.He had oxygen, drips,ECG,x-rays,Beta Blockers,sleeping tablets and stayed hooked up to a heart monitor the whole time.It was tough to see him so ill.

He was finally discharged on the 5th day ,but has to stay on Beta Blockers until his MRI in 3 weeks time.

Pericarditis is an inflamation of the pericardium (the fibrous sac surrounding the heart).

Symptoms

Anxiety
Breathing difficulty when lying down
Chest pain, caused by the inflamed pericardium rubbing against the heart
- May radiate to the neck, shoulder, back, or abdomen
- Often increases with deep breathing and lying flat, and may increase with coughing and swallowing
- Pleuritis type: a sharp, stabbing pain
- Usually relieved by sitting up and leaning forward
Dry cough
Fatigue
Fever
Need to bend over or hold the chest while breathing

I have been cheating on my blog in favour of Face Book and I mean to correct that.
What have I been up to?
-I went to my best friends husband's funeral. I spent time with her before and it was quite a shock to all concerned.This family has suffered a lot as they lost their daughter also, a few years ago.

-My Boyfriend came over from his Army barracks in Germany . It was wonderful to see him and he was just lovely . We had a great time. ( Though I had forgotten how long it takes to do things when you walk holding hands!)

I went up with him to Birmingham to get his legs checked out. Birmingham Hospital deals with the British Military. It was nice to be surrounded by men in uniform, but very sobering to see the young men back from Afghanistan ,most looking young enough to be my own son, with various limbs missing.Due to the God awful IED's. Yet they were so brave and cheerful.

-I went to a Christmas Lunch organised by the MB group. It was a lot of fun, great food ,we even had a raffle and I won a gift. My dear friend Phillip was my date/chauffeur, so no waiting in the cold for several buses! We were 37 in total , mostly women.

-I watched my Grand daughter in her first Nativity Play at her Montessori Nursery.

-My kids, Raphael and Isabella changed their looks:

-I joined a Low Self Esteem group and its going well.

HOPES were fading today for an angler missing in Assynt.

It is feared Steven Matheson (55) has been swept out to sea while fishing from the rocks around Stoer Bay on Sunday 25th September.

Mr Matheson, from Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, was staying with relatives in the Clachtoll area. Police said he was last seen by a member of the family in Clachtoll around midday on Sunday. His car was found parked and unattended beside Stoer Lodge, an area where Mr Matheson regularly fished from the rocks.

Searches of the area were carried out on Monday and Tuesday involving the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter, Lochinver Lifeboat, Lochinver Coastguard ground crew, Assynt Mountain Rescue Team, a search and rescue dog, and the police.

Coastguard volunteers searched the shoreline again on Wednesday but there was no trace of Mr Matheson.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Mr Matheson is asked to call Dornoch police on 01862-810222.

Petty Officer Jon Tumilson, 35, killed in the major U.S. helicopter crash in Afghanistan this month, was remembered by around 1,500 mourners. Mr Tumilson, of San Diego, California, was one of 38 killed on August 6 when a rocket-propelled grenade took out a U.S. Chinook helicopter.

But it was his Labrador retriever Hawkeye that really captured the public’s emotions in the photo taken by Mr Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton.

Nikki Virgilio, a friend of Mr Tumilson (known as J.T.) who was at the funeral, said Hawkeye was a personal pet rather than a military dog.

'I can happily report to you that Hawkeye was willed to one of J.T.'s good friends, the same one that took care of him whenever J.T. was deployed overseas,' she wrote on Facebook.

'So he is assuredly in a loving home. J.T. was an amazing being and his dog is no different.

What you’ll need
1/2 avocado and 1/2 banana (both very ripe)- if you have long hair then use a whole banana and avocado.
jojoba oil- 1 tablespoon
coconut oil- 1 tablespoon
honey- 1 tablespoon

Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. You can blend the mixture up in a food processor to avoid any “bits” in it.
Apply to clean hair and wrap your hair with cling film or shower cap for about 20-30 minutes.
Rinse off with lots and lots of luke warm water.
Then apply a light conditoner of your choice ( i recommend the moisturising kind)
Rinse off and wala! Soft tangle free hair.

I went to Southend on sea on Thusday.I had seen a flyer in the Library, and thought I'd give it a go.
It was lovely, although a bit windy. We went on the longest pier in the world.It has a nice train that takes you along to the end. Which was great as I could never have walked that far. Once at the end we saw the RNLI launch their lifeboats. And It just confirmed to me that men are supposed to be in uniform most of the time.( hee )
And of course I had a great Fish and chips in a really english restaurant.
And yes I bought the obligatory sticks of Rock. I found some nougat, which reminds me of being a child. I even picked up a cute little Golliwog. disclaimer : I am not now or have ever been offended by Golliwogs, they are just a cute toy that I loved when I was little.

Alas, I did NOT win tickets , BUT I did watch Adele live on Itunes. And I had a great time. Her voice is as powerful and soulful live as on CD . And she has a great time with her audience.
I just Love her songs and have pretty much lived her "21" album at one time or another. I have the album from the concert and it's fabulous. She sang Bonnie Raitt's song "I can't make you love me"

Dilemma

I went to an induction afternoon to be a volunteer for Mental health week. We had to do some role play , taking it in turns being the volunteer and person asking questions. And I got to pair up with a really nice guy, quite attractive and very interesting. And I realised something. Having spent 36+ years of my life,living a different lifestyle with a different point of reference to most, i don't know how to flirt/date!
I just haven't learnt the ins and outs (pardon the pun) of it all. And I know there are some of you reading this who know exactly what I mean.
As I am in the running for a BF ,this is a problem...

Aeisha's Japanese Uncle and Aunty came to visit. We had a great time. I had my first sushi and as it was not the raw fish kind ,I enjoyed it! They got along really well with Aiesha, and we ate drank, played games, talked and generally had a blast. Angy took them sight seeing, and it makes you realise, ( I already know!) What an interesting country, with a rich history we have.

“Known as the Motorcycle Queen of Miami, Bessie Stringfield started riding when she was 16. She was the first African-American woman to travel cross-country solo, and she did it at age 19 in 1929, riding a 1928 Indian Scout.
During WWII Stringfield served as a civilian courier for the US Army, carrying documents between domestic army bases. During the four years she worked for the Army she crossed the United States eight times. She regularly encountered racism during this time, reportedly being deliberately knocked down by a white male in a pickup truck while travelling in the South.

In the 1950s Stringfield moved to Miami, Florida where she qualified as a nurse and founded the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club. Her skill and antics at motorcycle shows gained the attention of the local press, leading to the nickname of "The Negro Motorcycle Queen". This nickname later changed to "The Motorcycle Queen of Miami", a moniker she carried for the remainder of her life. In 1990 the AMA paid tribute to her in their inaugural "Heroes of Harley Davidson" exhibit. Stringfield died in 1993 at the age of 82 from a heart condition.

In 2000 the AMA created the "Bessie Stringfield Memorial Award" to recognise outstanding achievement by a female motorcyclist, and Stringfield was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2002.”

I had a math teacher who would throw chalk at me . She would call me stupid. Consequently I hated math all my life. I finally went to college as an Adult learner to take a math course and guess what? Not only did I have fun, I found out I'm quite good at it, my tutor was impressed with me . She knew how to bring out the best in you.

My 2 yearly eye test was due so I went and had my eyes tested. My eyes are very healthy, my left eye's sight has slightly improved,but the overall level of stigmatism has slightly decreased.I am so fortunate to be in a country where I get help paying for my glasses and sight test.
I chose some "red or dead "glasses and got free prescription sunglasses! Very Audrey Hepburn!
I don't care what brand my glasses are. I chose these as they have an Ed Hardy vibe, with the red pictures on the arms.

We watched at home , with cups of tea and biscuits, home made fairy cakes and royal wedding clotted cream fudge, Thanks Natacha and Angelina. Aiesha enjoyed watching real Princes's and Princesses 's and the Queen .Sigh I can now take down the William and Catherine tea towel I have displayed in the window.

Everyone either was in London or at home watching the event.

Over 1million kettles were switched on to make tea after the wedding!

"So how do we keep the integrity to not trash our appearance but still convey we are really ill to doctors, family, friends? I advocate in my Doctor Appointment Pack to pay attention to your appearance when you go see your doctor. Change out of those sweatpants and wear some street clothes, comb your hair, put on a little lip gloss or shave your whiskers, gender specific obviously .

It is important to be viewed as an organized, normal, intelligent individual with something really wrong that is making you really sick. I believe this and have experienced first hand the difference between being dismissed as a depressed and disheveled mess of an individual and taken very seriously as a pro-active sick person that is a force to be reckoned with. I demand effective treatment and answers out of my doctors. Yes I know Fibromyalgia is grossly misunderstood by the medical community but there are still some theories, some research, some knowledge of this illness and I want it shared and my treatment to lessen my symptoms. So if a hairbrush, dress and lip gloss do this for me it is well worth the effort.

Looking better also leads to feeling better, even if just a little. Ever had the flu? You spend 3 days in bed sweating and sleeping, vomiting and more. And then that fever breaks. And the need to expel everything including water goes away. So maybe, you think to yourself, I am not so dizzy that I can stand up in the shower. And the second that water hits you and starts to wash the sick off, you start to feel a bit better. Exhausted, but better. This is kind of how I am feeling everyday. Yet the days I do take the time to clean up, makeup, and go somewhere or do something, I am not as down as I am when I lay in my room, barely leaving it , not really doing much to feel I look good. So I guess I am saying it is worth it to spend some of our limited energy on ourselves. No, 5 shades of eyeshadow and 3 coats of mascara are not what I am talking about. But taking a little time each day to do clean up and fix up. And having one hell of a response in your back pocket to all those annoying know-it-all's that think if you care about the way you look, you must not be sick. "

I realise that no one in my circle of friends is as fat as me. And I think that's one of the reason's I have a hard time. No one to talk to about it, and no one can relate. Unless you've walked that path, you can only guess what the other person is talking about.
It's not like I don't always put the best foot forward. I am loathe to leave the house looking a mess. Always am as groomed, clean and neat as I can be. I take Pride in my appearance.

I am really struggling right now, Self Loathing is at an all time high.

I went to Pukka films on Tuesday to appear in a film about people with Osteoarthritis. I met Fergus Dingle, who amongst his many talents,writes for Armstrong and Miller. ( Glad I didn't know that at the time! As I'm a huge fan) He made me feel at ease and I had a great time.
And it was lovely to be in London. Everything is so conducive to people with limited mobility.

I saw the "Supermoon" tonight. It was extremely bright, clear and very close. Quite Beautiful.And underneath it in the sky, was a huge cross.Not sure what made it ,clouds or cold air? But the whole scene was breathtaking. Thumbs up God! xox

I should really shoot the little guy, for his inability to do his job. Instead he seems to fly right over my head.

But it's not just his fault, the arrows seem to keep missing, maybe the recipient is just very good at dodging!
No, I won't be cynical-not yet. I have to be optimistic every year. Still believe that Love IS the greatest force in the world.
I DO have people that love me, some very good friends and family, I HAVE been in love , I have even been loved in return , for periods of time . But , to be loved and to love and we are both available and everything fits,ah there's the rub ,as Shakespeare would say.
I watched a short video today of 2 couples who found each other. The first couple were 100 and 90 and the second couple 70 and 65 respectively.
So in your face cupid! Get your chubby little behind in gear,ok? I know you have it in you!

I bought this book in my local Charity shop. And it's a gem!It has subjects as diverse as How to parallel park, The off side rule, how to lose 6 pounds in 6 hours, how to pull a man's shirt off in a twinkling,how to pour beer for a gentleman, and my favourite “ how to strangle a man with your bare thighs!”

That's the great thing about living in the UK , the charity shops,flea markets and car boot sales.

Provide unknown treasures. Of course self restraint is advised as its oh so easy to over buy.

How to Make a Little Black Dress Out of a Bin Liner
The LBD is always flattering and suits almost any occasion or venue. To fashion one from a bin liner in an emergency, turn the bin liner bottom-up and cut a hole in the middle, large enough for your head to fit through. Cut the front artistically into a scoop, or V-neck. Keep your cuts smooth and flowing; you want a clean line, not lots of little snippy snips. Cut armholes at each side to produce the classic sleeveless sheath.
The holes should be large enough to allow your arms to slip through comfortably without cutting off the circulation and turning them white and cold. Decorate the shoulder seam with a wide 6in strip cut from another bin liner. Tie into a small bow at each shoulder. NB: less is more.
Think Jackie Kennedy not Margaret Thatcher. Nip the dress in at the waist with a couple of lengths of doubled over bin liner taped together to form a belt. This is easier if you have it on at the time. The dress should be knee-length.

For the hemline there is a choice of finishes: a straight slit up one side or up the back, or tapered so it's higher at the front than the back or higher on one side than the other. Keep legs bare or wear sheer stockings. Add classic earrings, and maybe a minimal silver or gold necklace or some pearls.

How to Dance with a Man Shorter than Yourself

Either go with it, or even out the difference by making him wear stacked shoes or limiting yourself to tangos where you are bent over backwards. This is much harder so rather than hiding your height under a bushel, flaunt it. Never take your shoes off; and only wear a low heel if this doesn't compromise your own looks. If you don't make much of the difference, neither will others.

Concentrate on each other, not what other people may be thinking. If he is a lot shorter than you, ensure your nipple camouflage is in good order; it will be up for close and extended scrutiny.
